S.A.F.E. Fitness Philosophy
"Knowledge is Power" - Sir Francis Bacon
"Knowing Your Body is Empowerment" - Dave Reddy
Empowerment breeds motivation, motivation drives us to succeed!
"Know Your Body, (then) Succeed on Their Program." - This is what I advise when asked about Atkins and South Beach, Yoga, or any other program people are considering when searching for what may be right for them.
Let me help you "Define, Refine, & Achieve YOUR Success". My ultimate goal with everyone I work with is to increase his or her self awareness in the context of physical activity, nutrition and overall health. Whether meeting one time or weekly, I want people to understand the importance of fitness and exercise in all that we do, whether training for a marathon, picking up your (grand) children, or making decisions as you walk the aisles of the grocery store. By improving your self awareness in this context, knowing exactly how your body responds to physical activity and to the food you eat, I hope to develop in you an understanding of each aspect of a healthier you. When combined with the bigger picture of why we must take care of our most prized possession, OUR BODY, I hope this instills in all of us the driving motivation to succeed at whatever our goals may be. This is the idea behind my S.A.F.E. Program,
Self Awareness through Fitness and Exercise.
Each individual I come into contact with carries with them his or her own vision of success, whether a weight management goal, general fitness or quality of life, a special day in the coming months, or improving performance on the playing field. I'll do everything I can to help DEFINE that personal vision, then individually REFINE that idea into a specific series of steps and lifestyle modifications that will lead them to ACHIEVING and maintaining their success.
Every morning you get out of bed, you have 2 choices as to how to approach your day:
"Get Busy Livin' . . . or Get Busy Dyin'."
Always keep in mind that simple statement, as this can be repeated to yourself before every decision we make in life. "Will the result of this decision improve my life, will it lead me to a happier place? Or is it simply a temporary fix? Am I hiding from my true self? Am I settling for less than my potential? Or am I working every day to know myself better than I did yesterday, thereby allowing myself to truly follow my heart and my instincts that will lead to an improved quality of life."
With the science of nutrition and exercise, coupled with my own life experiences, I use each individual's personal background, personality, and needs, striving to assist him or her to become more self aware, to define their own sense of personal success, by creating an environment of education, eating, exercising, and living day to day, that will improve their overall health
"When we are healthy, we have a thousand wishes, when sick or injured, only one."
We have only this lifetime to fulfill these wishes, and it is through education of oneself, physically, emotionally, and spiritually, that we may have the chance to maximize our potential in all other areas of life.
